What is Pest Capture?

Pest Capture is one of the most serious kinds of problems on the interent - adware. Pest Capture acts as if it is a program that will help your computer, which can take advantage of you. While installed on your machine, Pest Capture will allow several Trojans (programs that install without your knowledge or permission) to make your computer their home. As you use your computer, you will see annoying pop up bubbles telling you that if you don't purchase the full version of Pest Capture, you may start to notice more serious problems. It may even scare you into thinking that the Trojans it allowed to take root into your machine will forever damage it.

Things to watch for with Pest Capture

Fortunately, you are quite likely to know if Pest Capture is running on your computer. Pest Capture will give you several annoying pop-up balloons that usually say something like, "CRITICAL SYSTEM ERROR! System detected virus activities. This May cause critical system failure." If you get a balloon like that, don't click on it. In most cases, clicking means a much deeper problem on your computer. You should download a reliable anti-spyware/anti-virus program as quickly as possible to remove Pest Capture.

You may also notice that when you start your internet browser, you are redirected to the Pest Capture page so you can download the full version of the program. In some cases, instead of redirecting you to a normal page loading error screen when a site fails to load, you will be redirected to the Pest Capture home page.

The Risks Involved

Pest Capture actually poses three separate risks to your PC. The first is known as a hijacker. A hijacker is exactly what it sounds like - a program, in this case a Trojan virus, that allows someone else to use your computer without you knowing it. The only sign you'll get if you don't have an anti-virus program running on your PC is that your computer will slow down quite a bit. Unfortunately, having a program like Pest Capture means a person from a remote location could be removing personal files from your computer at this very moment and unless you have the program to detect it, you wouldn't even know. That's part of what makes Pest Capture removal so essential. Pest Capture is also ransomware. Did you notice that you were asked for more money to remove "viruses" that are on your computer? Pest Capture is demanding money to remove the spyware that it allowed our computer to install. Pest Capture is also a Trojan. While the definition of a Trojan has evolved over the years, it basically means any program that installs itself on your computer without your knowledge or permission. In almost all cases, Trojans are bad news for your computer because they allow whoever created the Trojan to have access to your computer and the files you keep there. They are usually used to either take control of your computer or to simply destroy it. You can get Trojans from an email message, from a download from the Internet or from a bundle of software. The Trojan in question here is the ZLOB Trojan which goes by a whole host of other names, including Virus Blast, SpyWorm.win32 and ErrorSafe.

Removing Pest Capture

It's very important to remember before you attempt to remove any problem program from your computer to save all of your work and back up your PC using the System Restore program. Once you've taken the necessary precautions, you can try to remove Pest Capture through the Windows Add/Remove program method, but you will most likely leave a small part of the program behind, and thanks to Pest Capture's unique make up, the program will most likely reinstall itself and you'll be back where you started. In most cases you can try to edit your computer's registry to remove Pest Capture. Keep in mind, though, that this is extremely dangerous and should not be attempted by anyone who is not a PC expert. Tampering with your registry can seriously alter your computer and it can be extremely difficult to recover. Moreover, if you miss one of those Pest Control files, you'll be back in the same boat. As soon as you restart your computer, Pest Control will simply reinstall itself. There are several virus programs you can download that may or may not be able to remove Pest Capture. A major disadvantage of this is that many of these programs come with their own viruses attached to them so downloading them could actually make matters worse.

You could also try starting up your computer in "Safe Mode" and uninstalling it that way, but chances are unless you have reliable anti-spyware or anti-virus software on your computer that is specially designed to take care of these kinds of programs, even this won't work.

Why Does It Return?

One of the major problems with the Pest Capture program is that there is a pesky .dll file that starts up whenever you start your computer, even if you start it in Safe Mode. Finding that .dll file is tought. To get this .dll file isolated so that it can be removed, you'll need professional anti-virus software that can run as soon as you start your machine and stop that .dll file from running on your PC for good.

The best choice is to download and use a proven anti-virus program that can handle Pest Capture removal without any trouble at all. There are many out there, and iS3's STOPzilla is one of the best choices. It is better to be safe than sorry when dealing with something like Pest Capture.
